All the Who's Down in Whoville!!!

The doctor appt this morning went really well...I didn't even have to get another shot...YEAH!!!! Cole and I are both well on our way to recovery....no more Tammy Typhoid!!!!! So, I guess on Monday we will be back to the daily grind.

Temporarily De-Commissioned!!

I don't know if you've heard...but this week has been a rough one in the Moseley household!!

Tuesday afternoon, I got a phone call from Cole's daycare. He woke up from his nap running a fever over 102!! So, I picked him up and took him to his pediatrician. They examined him, took some blood...gave him an antibiotic shot and sent us to get a chest x-ray to have a look at his lungs. Since Cole and I have had terrible coughs and congestion for nearly 3 months now, I decided I should pay a visit to the doctor myself.

So, Wednesday morning I went to the doctor...they drew blood, took chest x-rays, gave me a shot of antibiotics...and told me I was on the verge of being put in the hospital due to severe bronchitis...YEAH!!! I went back to the doctor this morning, my infection levels have gone down a VERY little bit...so I got ANOTHER painful shot in the ass...and I have to go back tomorrow for another blood test...great!

But, the good news is that Cole is doing GREAT!!! When the doctor looked at his chest xrays and his new blood work...he is doing well!! THIS SUCKS!! I HATE BEING SICK. However, it will be nice to finally be rid of this wracking cough that I have been plagued with for nearly 3 months. I guess if I had gone to the doctor earlier, I probably would have saved myself from 2 shots...oh well. Lesson learned!

On to more positive subjects...our Thanksgiving was bunches of fun!! We went up to Huntsville Wednesday night and spent the entire weekend with my family. Grandma & Grandpa McSwain, and Tiber all came out and spent the week. It was very good to see all of them!! Cole had a BLAST being spoiled by so many people!!! We ate a LOT of good food...I think I put on about 10 pounds...I love it...can't wait for Christmas.

Well, I think I am going to go to bed now...drugs are starting to kick in and I am pretty whooped!

Good Night!!

Uuuuugh!!!!

Do you ever wake up in the morning with a headache?!?! That is how my day started out! I really wish it would go away...because I LOVE Fridays!! I got to wear jeans to work today...I get off at 3...today would be an ideal day...if I could get rid of this skull pounder!!

I'm getting excited for Thanksgiving...4 WHOLE DAYS off work!! YEAH! Dad has already started text messaging me his planned menus for the weekend...he kills me. I am excited to hang out with the fam. I will have several babysitters...a cook...a housekeeper...and someone to keep my husband entertained...it will be GREAT!!! Like a vacation!! Plus all the good food that Dad makes...I'll prolly gain about 20 lbs...but it will be worth it.

We haven't had anything too exciting happen around the house. Cole is still working on building his courage/confidence with walking. He will take a few steps on his own and then sit down, and getting those few steps out of him take A LOT of encouragement from us. I wonder if the next one will walk quicker due to having an older sibling to kinda show them the ropes? Not that I am wanting my baby to grow up any faster than he already is...but it IS exciting to watch him progress and learn new things!

The little monster fell asleep in his high chair the other day. We came home, I put him in his chair to eat some crackers while I was washing a few dishes. I looked over my shoulder one time...he was chattering away and throwing crackers down to share with Rico...about 5 minutes later the room became totally silent...I look over my shoulder and...

HA HA HA!!! I love it!!!

Well, y'all have a good weekend!!! This weekend we will be doing Thanksgiving with Ronnie's family since we will be gone with mine for the real thing!

Hey Y'all!!

Well, I have 6 minutes until I get to hit the clock and run out of my little cubicle...but I have absolutely NOTHING to do...which is SO strange for me! Somehow I have managed to get myself all caught up this week...that probably means that next week something terrible will happen and I will end up several days behind. Oh well, it's a paycheck.

So, how has life been going for everyone? There hasn't been too much going on with the Moseley's. Mostly we've just been hanging out. The weather has started too cool off a little bit. The high temperature during the day will range in the upper 60's, lower 70's. It is nice. My hot-natured husband keeps complaining that it STILL isn't cold enough! Guess I will ship him to Utah!!!

Cole's little monkey butt still isn't walking yet. He will stand up...he will dance...he will even walk if he has a tight grip on a sturdy support...but he will not take that first step on his own. I think he remembers falling and giving himself a black-eye back in September and he doesn't want to risk it again!! He got some fun toys for his birthday that he can walk with...and it is HILARIOUS to watch because he doesn't bend his knees and he looks like he has "Crazy Legs"!! I love it!!

Dad and Temperance will be "officially" moved to Alabama this weekend. YEAH! They are beyond excited. Temperance keeps claiming she is going to come down and kick Tell out of his bedroom because it is the one she wants...so I don't think he is quite as excited for them to get there...poor kid!!

Grandpa and Grandma McSwain will be coming out the week of Thanksgiving to visit with us...I'm excited to see them!!

And that is all the news we have...plus...it's time for me to go home!

Peace Out!!

Rednecks Rule!!

Good news...we have hot water once again...and have had it ever since Thursday of last week! Bless his heart...I've never been so excited to see a man in a toolbelt in my ENTIRE life!!!! I think the guy from the gas company thought I was crazy. But you try living without hot water for 3 days and tell me how you react to that repair truck pulling up into your yard!!!

We are throwing a birthday party for Cole on his Nov 1st! I cannot believe he will be a year old in about 2 1/2 weeks. The time has flown by!! I just keep thinking that the next time I go in his room to wake him up to get ready for daycare, I am going to find a teenager lying in his crib!!! Guess we need to get busy and have some more. It ought to be interesting to see how Cole will react to a younger sibling...there's already quite a bit of rivalry between him and Rico!!

Has anybody seen the TV show "My Big Fat Redneck Wedding"? It comes on CMT and it is HILARIOUS!!! Well, I went to a big fat redneck wedding RECEPTION this last Sunday. It was for Ronnie's uncle. I LOVE his family...and they are so wonderful to me...but I cannot help but laugh my butt off whenever I am around them. You just never know what is going to happen. To just set the mood for you...when we pulled up to his uncle's house on Sunday, there were children racing around the yard on Lil Rascals (those motorized wheelchair/scooter thingys)!! Apparently some older person they were friends with had recently passed away...and this was something his uncle had inherited from them!! I leaned over and said to Ronnie, "I didn't know your uncle was hosting the 2008 Special Olympics?"

Not Redneck enough, you say?

Well, try this little tidbit on for size...

The highlight of the evening...Ronnie's dad has figured out how to make a sort-of bomb using a 20 oz bottle, tin foil, and toilet cleaner! (I refuse to give exact directions because I don't want to be liable for any crazy things happening). My husband and his father kept everyone entertained for several hours by blowing up about 20 bottles!! Using toilet cleaner. Please do not forget that this was a BBQ that was supposed to be a WEDDING RECEPTION...so...who has the biggest redneck family now?!?!?! Try to contain your jealousy!!!

HA HA HA HAHA!!! I will forever love living in the Deep South!!!

Cole told me last night...he doesn't care if we EVER get the water heater fixed...the sprayer on the sink is pretty dang cool!!!!

Tuesday, October 7, 2008

It's Gettin' Hot In Here...wait, no it ain't!!!!

So, I have had to take a cold shower TWO DAYS IN A ROW!!! No, it is not because my husband is so dead sexy it is the only way I can function...it is because some stupid part on our damn water heater has gone on the fritz!!!!!!!!!!! That is freakin' awesome!!!
It worked just fine over the weekend. Come Monday morning...semi-warm water is all that would come out of the spout. So, my beloved husband called our gas company and they sent out a technician to have a little look-see. Turns out it is some part (I could not tell you which one) that we had to order from Whirlpool. So, when it gets here (we are praying for tomorrow at the latest) the technician dude will come back out and install it for us.
Let me tell you...those cold showers are quite...invigorating!!! Poor little Cole is going back to bathing in the sink because it is a great deal easier to heat water in the microwave and stove to fill that little space. Thank goodness we live in the South and the average daily temperature still hovers around the upper 80's...if I had to live in a cold climate AND take a cold shower...I would probably be unable to write this blog!!!
Wish me luck!!!!

READY FOR HALLOWEEN!!!!

Wheelin' and Dealin'

Well, it has been quite a while since my last post...so I guess it would be time to update!! We've had a lot of activity over the last month...and I am ready for it to slow down, just a touch!!

With all the hurricanes that have been attempting to wipe-out the Southern states...my work has stayed pretty busy. Insurance is NOT the industry to be caught in when there is a natural disaster!!! But, I look at it as job security. I actually enjoy reviewing the claims that float across my desk. I looked at one the other day where a guy had to have both of his vehicles towed from a gas station to his home...he had taken them to fill both of their tanks...turns out it was mud and water coming out of the gas nozzle!!! I cannot even begin to imagine how pissed I would be if that happened to me!!!!

Along with reviewing claims, I have also become a part-time trainer. When I started working for this company, I started in the billing department...which makes me the local billing expert in the department I work in now. So far, I have had to teach 2 classes on billing...and I have 2 more coming up in the near future. You would have laughed watching me prepare for them! I felt like I was in college again preparing for my final presentation! But, I got a lot of compliments...and a few people suggested I go into teaching (obviously these are people that do NOT know me well--ha ha ha!).

Ronnie's job is keeping him pretty busy. Apparently, being the only welder in a fabrication shop is a big deal! I don't know. He comes home everyday muttering stuff about mig-welding and tig-welding and blah, blah, blah! I don't do manual labor...I don't know...but it makes him happy! I am loving his new job because he now comes home in a good mood...YEAH!!!!!
Mom and Dad are finally getting settled into a house...YEAH!!! They bought a house in the quaint little town of Grant, AL. It is nestled up on a mountain on 10-acres of land...and it is absolutely gorgeous!! They are about 5 minutes away from Lake Guntersville, and 35 minutes outside of Huntsville. And now Ronnie and I are seriously considering moving in that direction. The area is just so peaceful and beautiful...ahhhhh. Maybe one day! For now, we are just happy to have them 2 1/2 hours away, rather than 15!!! Cole and I went up to Nebraska with Mom a few weekends ago to help her get the dogs...that place is SO ugly and SO dry and SO...just...yuck! I'm glad I NEVER have to go there AGAIN!!

As for Cole...he is just growing and growing and growing!!! As of yesterday...he is 11 months old and he has 4 teeth!!! He is getting pretty brave when it comes to walking. He will let go of things for a second and then quickly grab back on. And the other day, he and I were sitting on the bed...and out of no where he just stood up and sat back down!!!!

Wednesday

Good Morning, everyone!
It's another beautiful day in the neighborhood...well, really, it isn't all that beautiful since it has been raining continuously since Monday night...but anyways.
Work is boring me to tears today...I have plenty to do...I just REALLY don't want to do it!! I'm sure my boss would be thrilled with that attitude...but, since when have I cared about what she thought? Guess I won't start now.
Cole will be starting Daycare on Monday. I am excited and anxious. I am certain that he will thoroughly enjoy the interaction with the other children...but there is that small uncertainty that comes along with doing something new. The daycare is less than 1/2 a mile down the street from our house and we have a few friends who keep their kids there, as well. So, we have heard several good reviews from trusted sources...but all the same...you wonder if they are going to treat your baby as good as you would...! But...we are working very hard to not let this be a permanent situation.
Ronnie starts his new job on Monday (a week full of changes!!). He is excited and anxious as well. The pay increase is warmly welcomed...but he will be working lots more hours...and I know that scares the pants off him (ha ha ha)!! That was ultimately the reason we decided to move Cole to a daycare. Ronnie will be working 5 days/week rather than 4, and we didn't want to impose on Ronnie's mama anymore. Lots of adjustments, but I'm sure we'll survive.
Mom and Tell have been staying with us for the past 2 weeks...and it has been very pleasant! My mama has been taking SUCH good care of all of us!! It's nice to get a break from being the cook, maid, nanny, etc even if just for a little bit!!! Every night when I get home from work, she has dinner ready and then she will do the dishes and pack Ronnie and I a lunch. During the day she keeps Cole completely entertained and cleans the house. I'm afraid I am becoming a bit spoiled!! Dad will be down here on Saturday...and he will be taking her away from us...boo-hoo!! But I am enjoying it while it is available.
Anyways, that's all the news for the moment...gotta go do some work before I get in trouble!!!
Buh-Bye!!

Need a Giggle?

Little Red Riding Hood is skipping thru the forest road when she sees The big bad wolf crouched down behind a log.
'My, what big eyes you have, Mr. Wolf.'
The wolf jumps up and runs away. Further down the road Little Red Riding Hood sees the wolf again and this time he is crouched behind a bush.
'My what big ears you have, Mr. Wolf.'
Again the wolf jumps up and runs away.About 1/4 mile down the road Little Red Riding Hood sees the wolf again and this time he is crouched down behind a rock.
'My what big teeth you have Mr. Wolf.'
With that the wolf jumps up and screams,
'Will you knock it off, I'm trying to poop!'

Monday, July 28, 2008

Good Morning, everybody! It is the beginning of a new week...and aren't we ALL excited??!?! Did we all have a good weekend? Mine wasn't too terrible...
On Friday night...not much happened...I got off work at 3...YEAH, early day!!! Then Cole, Ronnie & I ate dinner at Red Robin...good...but definitely OVER-PRICED! Will NOT be eating there again!! Then we went to Walmart and played in the toy department for about 2 hours until Cole started getting super grumpy and Ronnie had chased off everyone else with his nasty gas problems!!!!

On Saturday, again...not much. We slept-in mostly. When Ronnie got up, he gave the doggies a bath. Both of them have caught fleas...which is SO lovely!! So, they have both been banished to sleeping in the den. Hopefully the flea shampoo and flea meds will kick-in quickly and clear them up. I hate creepy-crawly little bugs!! After dealing with the pups, we went to Nelson's for a BBQ and just hung out with him for the night.

On Sunday...I think we accomplished even less than usual!! Cole and I played with toys for the majority of the day. Ronnie FINALLY got out of bed around 3 IN THE AFTERNOON and mowed the lawn.

What can I say? We're just a bunch of bums!!!!!

So, Mom will be down on Wednesday. She is about to explode with excitement. And I am ready for the drama of moving to be done and over with!!! This one is going to be a looooong, drawn-out process because they are moving down in shifts. I don't know why...I just know that is how it's gonna be. Mom and Tell are going to leave Nebraska at the butt-crack of dawn on Tuesday, at which time they will drive to Chicago to visit some friends. Then they are leaving Chicago at teh butt-crack of dawn on Wednesday and driving down here. So, they should hit Montgomery in the evening. Fun Stuff!! I know how much that drive sucks...and I am SO GLAD I don't have to do it!!
Well, that is all the excitement for now. Gotta go underwrite some auto insurance! Peace-Out!!

Monday, July 14, 2008

Ahhhh...another day...another dollar!!

Does anyone else feel like this last weekend just flew on by? It's amazing how slowly a Monday or Tuesday will creep by...but let Saturday get here and it's like someone hit the fast-forward button!!

Our weekend was pretty good this time around. We didn't do a whole hell of a lot...which is just the way I like it!!

On Saturday, Cole and I hung around the house while Ronnie took my car up to his parent's house so he could change the oil. He ended up spending several more hours there than anticipated due to a torrential rainstorm! After he finally completed that chore, his parents drove down to Montgomery and we all went out to eat at Carrabba's. YUMMY!!!

Sunday was a day completed wasted!! We did NOTHING, and by nothing, I mean NOTHING!! I made a big pot of Italian Soup and did some laundry...and then laid around and read my book while my husband watched the TV. Pretty relaxing and JUST what we needed!

We had some excitement with Cole...he pulled himself up ALL BY HIMSELF on the couch!!!
We are SO proud of him...and he thinks he is the coolest thing since sliced bread!!!! I guess it truly won't be much longer until he is running around the house like a crazy person!! Can't wait!!

Hope everyone has a GREAT week...don't work too hard!!!

Thursday, July 3, 2008

Ahhh...the end of another week...and here we are on the eve of my FAVORITE holiday!! All day long I was so excited for the day to end I just couldn't help but be happy and cheerful!!! It also helped that this was only a 4-day week instead of 5!!!!!! WOO-HOO!!!!

I think Cole and I will sneak up to Wetumpka tonight and purchase some flash and sizzle (a.k.a fireworks)...I am going to refrain from getting anything that is TOO loud and TOO crazy, just so I can get Cole used to them this first time around...but in the years to come...he better be a pyro just like his dear mother!!

My parents got the Unofficial--Official Word that they will be stationed in Huntsville, AL come the Fall. We are pretty excited about this news...most especially because it means that going to see them will not require plane tickets or a 15-hour drive any longer. And I know they are more than ready to get out of Nebraska. They have enjoyed meeting new people and experiencing a new community...but they are ready to come back to the South...where people are...normal?!?!? HA HA HA!!! Well, maybe not normal...but certainly more friendly and welcoming.

Update on Cole...he is crawling faster and faster everyday. He is starting to figure out how to pull himself up on things...so I'm sure walking isn't all that far away!! Once he gets up, I'm sure he will NEVER stop running...can't wait!! His two little teeth creep out a little further every day...he bit me on the hand the other morning and actually left a mark!! Guess who has learned not to stick her hand in the baby's mouth anymore!!! He has also started saying, "Baaa Baaa Baa" over and over and over and over and over again...can't wait to see what that turns into. He's very silly...and acts A LOT like his Daddy!! Every morning when I wake him up to get him ready to go to his Grandma's house, he will give me the NASTIEST look and then roll over on his stomach...I'm sure if he could talk he would throw in some colorful language as well...HA HA HA!!! I see lots of butt-whoopins in his future....

Update on Ronnie...he is going to look at a fishing boat tonight. He has been absolutely DYING to get one for the past week. I don't know why he suddenly decided that he MUST have one right this second...but he has. So, we made a deal...cuz there's no WAY I am going to get the short end of this stick...and if the boat isn't a hunk of junk...we may have a little boat by the end of the night!!! Hmmmm....oughta be interesting! At least I will have someplace to sunbathe and read a book while he fishes...that the snakes can't get too!!!!!!!!!!

Alrighty...everybody needs to have a wonderful and relatively safe 4th of July!!!! Light some for me...cuz I can NEVER get enough!!!

Friday, June 27, 2008

It's FRIDAY!!! It's FRIDAY!!!! HOORAY!!!

I absolutely LIVE for Friday!! I love Fridays because I get to sleep-in until 6 am...and I don't have to make a 60-mile commute (it gets cut down to 8 miles!)...and I get to stop at Starbucks for a little pick-me-up...and I know I don't have to work for the next TWO WHOLE DAYS!!!!! I just can't help but be in a good mood when Friday gets here. The only thing that could make it better would be if I got off early today, but I guess I won't press my luck.

Tomorrow we have a wedding to attend. I absolutely love and adore the girl that is getting married...but I HATE going to weddings!! I always have. I don't really know why...I just don't enjoy them. I think the only wedding I have ever truly enjoyed (besides my own...which was pretty dang fun) was Megan & Josh. Short and sweet with a really awesome party at the end!! I don't like weddings that are full of pomp and circumstance...I think the meaning gets diminished...I like the ones that are small, personal and truly reflect the bride and groom's personality and tastes. But...that's my opinion...what do I know.

But, this issue of the wedding has brought up a minor stress...what to wear. I know I need to wear a dress...but I don't really have anything that I feel would be appropriate. And ever since giving birth to my sweet little baby boy (whom I would not trade for anything, just to be clear)...I do not enjoy dressing this new body I have. It's a total alien form to me, and I feel like I am constantly in unfamiliar territory. I used to be able to look at an outfit and know whether it would work for me...cannot do that now...things that look like they would work suddenly become a device of torture when I try to drape it on myself...!!! I just get so frustrated with the entire ordeal. And I swear, I am not trying to make excuses...but getting to the gym is proving to be IMPOSSIBLE!!! I already get up every morning (except Friday) at 5 am...I don't WANT to get up any earlier...it is physically painful to do so. And I don't normally get home from work until about 5:30 or 6 pm...and since Cole usually goes to bed between 8:30 and 9, that only leaves 3 hours for me to spend with my sweet baby...and since it is Summer in the Deep South...trying to exercise outside is like trying to exercise inside a giant oven!! So, I just don't know what to do anymore. I guess I am going to start learning to live without any food at all until this weight miraculously disappears and I start to recognize my body again!! Anyways...I'm sorry I have whined...I will stop now.

The sun is shining, it is a beautiful day...and one of my favorite holidays...the 4th of July is right around the corner!! I have already been scoping out the fireworks stands around our area...I LOVE fireworks!! I end up with a horrible burn on some part of my body every year...but it is WELL worth it!

There was one time when Megan and I were taking a road trip to Washington, DC and we had to stop in South Carolina to get gas. We were ECSTATIC when we realized that in South Carolina you can buy fireworks 365 days a year!! Isn't that amazingly wonderful? For that reason alone, I am ready to pack up and move to South Carolina on a minute's notice!!!!!!!!

Alrighty, I am going to do some work now...or, well...I'm going to LOOK like I am doing work...

Wednesday, June 11, 2008

I just thought I would include a picture of my home away from home. Isn't it lovely? I have tried to cover up the strange wall color with pictures of my sweet baby boy...but there are areas where it still shines through.
I just came back from my afternoon break, Bridget and I went outside to get some fresh air. It was a lovely experience! The sun is shining, there is a nice breeze and I believe the temperature is somewhere around 92 degrees (of course, add in that good 'ol humidity factor and it feels about 200 degrees!)...but I LOVE the warm weather, so I'm really not complaining.

My Mom called me just a little bit ago. Her and Dad are currently enroute to Montgomery. They have to go to Georgia for a pinning-on ceremony (silly Air Force people) and they decided to swing by and spend the night at our little house. I'm sure it has more to do with Cole than anyone else. But I am excited to see them. We will probably go out to dinner and then sit around until the wee hours of morning shootin' the shit...that's pretty normal in our crowd!

So, the nasty cold is FINALLY starting to get better!! YEAH!!! Cole has been feeling better for a few days now...which makes sense since he is the one who brought this illness home. I, on the other hand, am just now starting to feel a little less on the edge of death. And yes, Moog, snot IS gross! I wish there was some sort of market for it, because we would be filthy rich right now!! I am really excited to get rid of the cough...I freakin' sound like Tammy Typhoid...I'm surprised they haven't quarantined me yet!!

Cole and I played on his swing for a little while last night. He LOVES it! The dogs can be a little annoying at times...they wander around like they are blind and run into his feet...which brings the whole operations to a jerky halt! Poor kid takes it all in stride...no crying...just gets a panicked look on his little face...jeez! Anyone want a Chocolate Lab?

Ok, gotta get back to work now....

WHAT THE FREAK!!!
Why are plane tickets to Utah so expensive?!?!
I mean, really, I'm going to have to sell Cole to the Gypsies in order to ever afford one!!
Cheese and Cornbread!!!!!

Thursday, June 5, 2008

Ok, if this week does not hurry up and end...I am going to go insane!!
I always hate when we get to summertime because it makes me actually miss being back in school. You know, back when we actually got a "Summer Break"! Don't get me wrong...I LOVE LOVE LOVE summer...it is my favorite season...but I hate that I am spending nearly every minute of it in a cubicle with no window! I want to be outside building a fort...or swimming in the river...or playing tag at the park. Being an "adult" sucks!! I saw a quote the other day that seems to fit nicely here: "You are young only once...but you can be immature FOREVER!" It's gotten so bad that I have resorted to cutting tropical pictures out of magazine and stapling them to my cubical walls. Is that sad?
Well, Cole and I have a wonderful summer cold going on...it's lovely! Stuffy nose, coughing, sneezing...we were quite a pair riding to his grandparent's house this morning. I felt like someone should put a "Beware of Plague" sign on the bumper of my car. How did I manage to make it through the entire winter with no illness...but as soon as the hot, muggy summer arrives...bam...!!! I just don't get it! I wish I could go home and crawl back into my bed and not get out until I stopped sniffling. Too bad the lucrative world of auto insurance cannot get by without me.
Can you tell I am feeling very negative today? I promise to try to do better!
Gotta go!

The Day That Gets Me Through The Week!!

Hey!!
I am SO glad today is Friday!! This week, although short 1 day, has felt so incredibly long!!!!! I honestly did not think I would survive to see this day...I thought I would be found dead in my chair Thursday afternoon...cause of death: BOREDOM!!! BUT...here we are!! Is anyone planning to do anything fun this weekend? Ronnie and I have NO plans...and that is just how we like it. We got some new movies in from Netflix...and we will probably camp out on the couch and just watch the weekend slip by.

I think my poor little baby boy is officially beginning the teething process. Last night he was a total grumpy bear! He fussed and fussed...and he would not tolerate being set down or being held by his daddy. It was mama or screaming...wonderful. On top of that, he would NOT go into his usual deep sleep, he woke up about 3 times in the middle of the night...again, the only one he wanted was mama. Oh, joy. I guess we will be starting a Tylenol regiment tonight and try to keep him from feeling too miserable. Why does it have to be so difficult? I can't imagine what this would have been like if he had been a twin and I was going through this with TWO babies at the same time...and GOD BLESS those women that have multiples!!

My mom called me yesterday with some news. She called me a little before lunch time and told me she was in the emergency room with my dad...he had been out jogging and fell off the side of the road and broke his ankle!!! We all know he is not the most coordinated person...none of us really are...but it always seems like the really goofy injuries happen to him...anyone remember him nearly cutting his fingertips off while making a bow?!?!? She told me that he made her stop and Starbucks on the way to the emergency room so he could have his morning coffee!!! Seriously. FORTUNATELY, she did call me back a little later in the afternoon to tell me that the x-rays showed he just had a nasty sprain. And there was a GREAT sigh of relief from the family in Nebraska!!! The funny part to all of this...when they got home, Dad wanted to go upstairs so he could lay on his bed with an ice pack on his ankle. They live in a really old house with rickety, skinny, spirally stairs. So, Mom told him to turn around and scoot up the stairs on his backside so he would be more steady (these stairs are dangerous even if you are 100% OK). Well, his reply was, "I will NOT do that, I still have my dignity!!" Mom said about 3 seconds later she hear a major clatter and some thumps...genius had tripped on the stairs...she hollered out, "How's that dignity now?" I love my family...no sympathy...straight to the humiliation!!

Anyways, I guess since I am at work and on the clock I should probably try to get some work done...that IS why they pay me the big bucks ;)!!!
I'll talk to y'all later...peace out!!

Well, I have done it...I am succumbing to the urge to BLOG!!! Actually, I just wanted to be cool like all my friends, so I am going to give this a shot. Many of you out there are rolling your eyes because you know that I am HORRIBLE at returning phone calls, letters, emails, etc...so how will this be any better? Well, it won't. I'm sure I will leave it horribly neglected and only write updates when there is a major crisis. But that's OK! I still want to be cool anyways! And if anyone gets tired of me rambling about stuff they don't really care about...it's pretty easy to just click that little "x" in your upper right hand corner and put me out of your mind.

I'm pretty bored right now. I'm sitting at work wishing I was ANYWHERE but here. Why did they make the walls of my cubicle to beigh-ey? I think it needs to be a more warm and inviting color so that when I see them my gag reflex is not stimulated. Or a window would be nice...a nice big one that does not overlook the enormous parking lot (that is the view my boss has, woop-dee-dooo!!!). Oh well, I guess I will just keep surfing the internet for useless knowledge (I learned today on Wikipedia that cops will use crushed macadamia nuts as a decoy for crack cocaine...apparently they look exactly the same) and job openings that I will never apply for (the CSX railroad is hiring, so is Alabama Power).

Maybe someone is interested in some Cole news. We had his 6-month check-up last Friday (even though he is nearly 7 months old now) and it went really well. He weighs 16 1/2 lbs and he is 28 1/2 inches long...and a big 'ol head. They measured his head 5 times to make sure they were reading it correctly. But, at the end of it all, they said he was perfect and that we should start putting everything in hiding because they think he will be up and walking any time now. I hate that he is growing up so quickly. It honestly blows my mind that it has been 7 months already!! I have enjoyed EVERY stage, and look forward to the next. It is so neat to see how he develops and learns on a daily basis. He loves to imitate facial expressions...and he is GOOD at them!

Ronnie news...he is on the hunt for a new job. We are both SO over the one he has now. I swear the place is ran by a bunch of dumb rednecks who flunked out of business school!! It's taken me a little while to get him to see the light...but I think I have lit a little flame of excitement within him (that sounded SO cheesy). He is now looking at several different types of jobs and considering things that he has never done before...possibly even going back to school...which I support wholeheartedly!! So, pray for us that he succeeds in this endeavor.

OK, I am going to go take my lunch now...the one high-point in the day. Y'all come back now...y'hear!!
