Rednecks Rule!!
Good news...we have hot water once again...and have had it ever since Thursday of last week! Bless his heart...I've never been so excited to see a man in a toolbelt in my ENTIRE life!!!! I think the guy from the gas company thought I was crazy. But you try living without hot water for 3 days and tell me how you react to that repair truck pulling up into your yard!!!
We are throwing a birthday party for Cole on his Nov 1st! I cannot believe he will be a year old in about 2 1/2 weeks. The time has flown by!! I just keep thinking that the next time I go in his room to wake him up to get ready for daycare, I am going to find a teenager lying in his crib!!! Guess we need to get busy and have some more. It ought to be interesting to see how Cole will react to a younger sibling...there's already quite a bit of rivalry between him and Rico!!
Has anybody seen the TV show "My Big Fat Redneck Wedding"? It comes on CMT and it is HILARIOUS!!! Well, I went to a big fat redneck wedding RECEPTION this last Sunday. It was for Ronnie's uncle. I LOVE his family...and they are so wonderful to me...but I cannot help but laugh my butt off whenever I am around them. You just never know what is going to happen. To just set the mood for you...when we pulled up to his uncle's house on Sunday, there were children racing around the yard on Lil Rascals (those motorized wheelchair/scooter thingys)!! Apparently some older person they were friends with had recently passed away...and this was something his uncle had inherited from them!! I leaned over and said to Ronnie, "I didn't know your uncle was hosting the 2008 Special Olympics?"
Not Redneck enough, you say?
Well, try this little tidbit on for size...
The highlight of the evening...Ronnie's dad has figured out how to make a sort-of bomb using a 20 oz bottle, tin foil, and toilet cleaner! (I refuse to give exact directions because I don't want to be liable for any crazy things happening). My husband and his father kept everyone entertained for several hours by blowing up about 20 bottles!! Using toilet cleaner. Please do not forget that this was a BBQ that was supposed to be a WEDDING RECEPTION...so...who has the biggest redneck family now?!?!?! Try to contain your jealousy!!!
HA HA HA HAHA!!! I will forever love living in the Deep South!!!

It's Gettin' Hot In Here...wait, no it ain't!!!!
So, I have had to take a cold shower TWO DAYS IN A ROW!!! No, it is not because my husband is so dead sexy it is the only way I can function...it is because some stupid part on our damn water heater has gone on the fritz!!!!!!!!!!! That is freakin' awesome!!!
It worked just fine over the weekend. Come Monday morning...semi-warm water is all that would come out of the spout. So, my beloved husband called our gas company and they sent out a technician to have a little look-see. Turns out it is some part (I could not tell you which one) that we had to order from Whirlpool. So, when it gets here (we are praying for tomorrow at the latest) the technician dude will come back out and install it for us.
Let me tell you...those cold showers are quite...invigorating!!! Poor little Cole is going back to bathing in the sink because it is a great deal easier to heat water in the microwave and stove to fill that little space. Thank goodness we live in the South and the average daily temperature still hovers around the upper 80's...if I had to live in a cold climate AND take a cold shower...I would probably be unable to write this blog!!!
Wish me luck!!!!

Obama Jokes...because I can!!
What did Barack Obama ask when he learned that Russia invade Georgia?
Is South Carolina next?
What's the difference between Sarah Palin and Barack Obama?
One is a well dressed, attractive piece of eye-candy. The other kills her own food.
What's the difference between Osama bin Laden and Obama bin Biden?
With Obama bin Biden, you get two for the price of one.
What did Obama say when the Reverend Jeremiah Wright asked if he was listening during his sermons?
"I'm all ears."
Speaking of ears, what's the difference between Barack Obama and Dumbo?
Dumbo is smarter than he looks.
People worry that McCain, if elected, might not last four years due to his age.
Others worry that America, if Obama's elected, might not last four years due to his policies.
Why is Jimmy Carter campaigning hard for Obama?
It's Carter's one shot to avoid going down in history as the worst president ever.
What does Obama and Osama bin Laden have in common?
They’re both friends with terrorists who bombed the Pentagon.
Where did Obama decry the influence of money on politics?
Barbara Streisand’s $28,500 a plate dinner.
Did you notice how Sarah Palin kept referring to McCain as John S. McCain during her speech at the Republican convention?
This bewildered conservatives who always thought his middle name was “effing.”
What do Miley Cyrus and Barack Obama have in common?
They both attract young people with mindless verses.
What’s the difference between Michelle Obama and pit bull? Pit bulls aren’t angry *all* the time.

Wheelin' and Dealin'
Well, it has been quite a while since my last post...so I guess it would be time to update!! We've had a lot of activity over the last month...and I am ready for it to slow down, just a touch!!
With all the hurricanes that have been attempting to wipe-out the Southern states...my work has stayed pretty busy. Insurance is NOT the industry to be caught in when there is a natural disaster!!! But, I look at it as job security. I actually enjoy reviewing the claims that float across my desk. I looked at one the other day where a guy had to have both of his vehicles towed from a gas station to his home...he had taken them to fill both of their tanks...turns out it was mud and water coming out of the gas nozzle!!! I cannot even begin to imagine how pissed I would be if that happened to me!!!!
Along with reviewing claims, I have also become a part-time trainer. When I started working for this company, I started in the billing department...which makes me the local billing expert in the department I work in now. So far, I have had to teach 2 classes on billing...and I have 2 more coming up in the near future. You would have laughed watching me prepare for them! I felt like I was in college again preparing for my final presentation! But, I got a lot of compliments...and a few people suggested I go into teaching (obviously these are people that do NOT know me well--ha ha ha!).
Ronnie's job is keeping him pretty busy. Apparently, being the only welder in a fabrication shop is a big deal! I don't know. He comes home everyday muttering stuff about mig-welding and tig-welding and blah, blah, blah! I don't do manual labor...I don't know...but it makes him happy! I am loving his new job because he now comes home in a good mood...YEAH!!!!!
Mom and Dad are finally getting settled into a house...YEAH!!! They bought a ho
use in the quaint little town of Grant, AL. It is nestled up on a mountain on 10-acres of land...and it is absolutely gorgeous!! They are about 5 minutes away from Lake Guntersville, and 35 minutes outside of Huntsville. And now Ronnie and I are seriously considering moving in that direction. The area is just so peaceful and beautiful...ahhhhh. Maybe one day! For now, we are just happy to have them 2 1/2 hours away, rather than 15!!! Cole and I went up to Nebraska with Mom a few weekends ago to help her get the dogs...that place is SO ugly and SO dry and SO...just...yuck! I'm glad I NEVER have to go there AGAIN!!

He is getting pretty brave when it comes to walking. He will let go of things for a second and then quickly grab back on. And the other day, he and I were sitting on the bed...and out of no where he just stood up and sat back down!!!!
