Boys....

Boogie and I were playing outside for a little while this afternoon before the weather turned sour. He is a FUNNY kid!!! He got pretty upset with me when I drug him inside...when it started POURING RAIN!!!
Fortunately, all the tornado warnings and sirens have passed...and all we got were buckets loads of rain...which we needed...so all is well.

Oh...and this is HILARIOUS, he is definitely ALL boy:

And he is not NEARLY as cuddly as he used to be!!!
But his smile will melt your heart!
Our Valentine's Day was pretty laid-back. We decided to "celebrate" it the day before because...well...I hate Valentine's Day with a passion...I always have...so I prefer to do something fun the day before and then pretend like the holiday doesn't really exist on the actual day.
Anyways, my sweet husband sent me some beautiful roses to my job on Friday...even after I had specifically told him not too. They were a very pleasant surprise, and I was truly grateful that he didn't listen to me. That night, we got a babysitter for Cole and Ronnie and I went to dinner and saw a movie. Ronnie's dumb butt slept through half the movie (mind you, he snores like a grizzly bear when he sleeps) and we had most of the theater staring at us!!! But it was nice to go out on an actual date with just the two of us...something that RARELY happens these days!
The actual day of St Valentine (Saturday)...Ronnie went up to his parent's house to tinker with his truck...and Cole and I hung out at the house and did LAUNDRY!!! And on Sunday, well, we didn't even bother to get out of our pajamas! I LOVE those days!!!
Well...it's almost 9 o'clock...so I think I'm gonna go crawl in bed with a good book until my eyelids slam shut! Good Night!!

And So It Begins...

We are under tornado watches today...the beginning of tornado season!
This time last year, we had a big 'ol ugly tornado touch down in Prattville (about 20 mins away from where we live)...it did bunches of damage, but no one was killed.
Guess we need to start praying and being good!!

Want Some Recipes?

Stinky Bread

1 C Butter

1-2 Cloves Garlic

1 ¼ Tbsp Dried Basil

2 Tbsp Capers, Rinsed & Drained & Chopped up tiny

Salt to Taste

*Moosh up and stir all that together

Get a loaf of French Bread and cut the crust off the top and sides. Slice the bread almost through at a little less than 1-inch intervals and put a slice of mozzarella cheese in each slot.

Put the cheese-stuffed loaf on a big sheet of heavy foil and make sort of a little cradle for it (but don’t cover the top) and put it on a cookie sheet.

Now get the butter mixture and “ice” the loaf with it.

Put it in the oven on “Broil” until it’s brown and gooey and bubbly.

Fatten-You-Up Rolls

Pre-heat oven to 400

1 Stick Melted Butter

1 C Sour Cream

1 Heaping C Self-Rising Flour

Put little globs in a greased mini-muffin pan and bake for 12 minutes.

No Pain Coffee Cake

Take 1 pkg frozen rolls and put half of hem (still frozen) in a greased bundt pan.

On top of those, put ½ small package Instant Butterscotch Pudding Mix, ½ C Dark Brown Sugar, 1 Tbsp Cinnamon, ¼ Stick Butter (melted), and ¼ C Pecan Pieces.

Make another layer with the other half of the rolls and top with the same ingredients.

Cover loosely with foil sprayed with Pam. Put a clean towel over that and let the whole thing sit out overnight on the counter. (If it rises over the top, poke it down with clean fingers).

The next morning, cook it for 30 mins at 350.

Sweet Dreams Are Made of This...

So, here it is...Saturday afternoon. Cole is taking a nap, Ronnie is taking a nap, Rico is taking a nap, Hunter is...well who gives a shit what Hunter is doing...I keep hoping he will magically disappear. Anyways, I am the only one awake...and the house is just too quiet! I've been online literally ALL morning long looking up cruises and vacation packages. Just doing a little wishful thinking! I would give just about anything to take a tropical vacation right now!!! Just the thought of lying on a beach soaking up the sun while listening to the ocean waves...ahhhhhhh, I already feel the stress leaving my body.
I went on a cruise once, my Sophomore year of college...it was THE BEST VACATION EVER!! And I do mean...EVER!!! You could eat when you wanted...you could sleep when you wanted...and we got to see the most amazing beaches and go on some awesome adventures!! I'm pretty sure I have some pictures posted on my myspace, if ya care to take a gander. I always get wistful when I look at them...and I think to myself how that was the fastest vacation I think I've ever gone on. I got to snorkel, visit a Sea Turtle farm, tour a rum factory, visit ancient Mayan ruins, lounge on beautifully white sand, swim in impossibly clear water, eat until I could barely move...and make fun of the kid who got so drunk he ended up sitting in a chair all by his lonesome, staring out at the ocean and crying... HA HA HA HAHA!!! That was some funny shit!
I don't know when I'll be able to go again. I keep mentioning it to Ronnie, and he (having never been on one) is starting to get interested. I keep hoping with the economy in the so-called tailspin, the prices of vacations will drop through the floor and we can have another amazing vacation without dropping an amazing amount of cash. So, keep an eye out there for me...you see a good deal...send me an email!! I may even let you come!
Until then...I guess I'll keep shuffling through beautiful scenes online!
